APPLICATIONS OF FULLERENE IN MEDICINE

One of the most important uses of Fullerene is medicine. Fullerenes are active molecules. Fullerene molecule can be used as an antioxidant because it can easily react with radicals due to the high affinity of the electron. At the same time, Fullerene is used as an anti-aging and anti-damage agent in the cosmetic sector. Fullerenes are used as antiviral agents. This use is provided by its unique molecular structure, antioxidant effect and biological compatibility. Some Fullerenes can form conjugates with proteins and DNA. This situation is thought to help the development of anti-cancer treatments. Fullerene molecule can be used in drug delivery area. The surface of Fullerene is covered with a chemotherapeutic agent. This agent finds the cancer cell and is transported directly there. It has also been shown that the Fullerene reagent forms a protective layer on the DNA and extends the DNA life of the endosomes. May be used for osteoporosis treatment becaus

What is the fullerene?

The real name is buckminster fullerene. Fullerene are the third allotrope form of carbon material after graphite and diomand. Fullerene are the three-dimensional spherical shape of the graphene layer. The first fullerene is formed by the condensation of carbon atoms formed by evaporation of graphite by laser.  The first fullerene molecule was discovered and prepared in 1985 by Richard Smalley, Robert Curl, James Heath, Sean O’Brien, and Harold Kroto at Rice University. The name come from Buckminster Fuller, whose geodesic domes it resembles. The most stable and common of fullerenes is the C 60 molecule. This molecule is a pure carbon molecule consisting of 60 atoms. In the structure of the C60 molecule there are 12 pentagons and 20 hexagons. If the fullerene is so special, it is the superior physical and chemical properties that the stable and solid structure provides. The hardness of fullerene is harder than diamond. Also, the ductility of fullerene is 100

Applications of Promethium Rare Earth Element

*Discovery of Promethium element in 1942 which makes it last discovered lanthanide element. * Promethium Rare Earth Element is 5 th element of lanthanide element family and Promethium was named after Prometheus who is an important figure in Greek Mythology. *Promethium Rare Earth Element is a rare earth metal and Promethium is found in some minerals. * Promethium silvery-white element is the only rare earth element which is radioactive. And Promethium ‘s toxicity depends on its radioactivity. *Promethium Rare Earth Element melts at 1,042.00◦C and boils at 3,000.00◦C and its atomic weight is 145. The information that Promethium contains no stable isotopes should also be considered. * Promethium Rare Earth Element spreads a pale blue or green flash in the dark. * Promethium Rare Earth Element is mostly used for research and development activities and sometimes it is used in atomic batteries. Facts About Samarium Rare Earth Element

* Samarium Rare Earth Element is found by Jean Charles Galissard de Marignac in 1853 in Geneva, Switzerland. Later on, researches have been carried on Samarium element by Lecoq de Boisbaudran, a French scientist. * Samarium Rare Earth Element is a rare earth metal which belongs to the Lanthanide element family. Samarium ‘s atomic weight is 150.4. *This Samarium silvery-white element, like other lanthanide elements, is slightly toxic and stable in air at normal temperatures but Samarium may take fire in air when the temperature is higher than 150◦C. *Samarium Rare Earth Element is used in magnet production and it contributes to the industries like Aerospace, Automobile, Chemical, Electric and Electronic Industries. This useful element can also be used in cancer treatments in Health Industry. * Samarium Rare Earth Element is also beneficial for body metabolism. *Melting point of Samarium is 1170◦C and boiling point of it is 1790◦C. *Samarium Rare Earth Element used as a neutro

Specifications of Scandium Rare Earth Element

* In 1879 in Sweden, a chemist named Lars F. Nilson found an element and named it as Scandium. The atomic weight  of this element is 44.9559. * Scandium Rare Earth is an element which has low toxicity and Scandium is soft, light and sliver-white but Scandium  sometimes change its color when it is in reaction with air. * Density of Scandium Rare Earth Element is almost low as aluminum but Scandium’s melting point is much higher than  aluminum. * Scandium Rare Earth Element reacts with many of acids. * Scandium Rare Earth Element can be used in aircraft industry just like aluminum but aluminum is cheaper than  Scandium. Thus, scandium usually is not used. * Scandium Rare Earth Element is mostly used in sports equipment like golf clubs, baseball bats etc. * Scandium Rare Earth Element is hard to find in nature but it can be seen in different minerals. * In our day the main application of Scandium Rare Earth Element by weight is in aluminium-scandium allo

Terbium Rare Earth Element

*Terbium Rare Earth Element was discovered by Carl Gustaf Mosander in 1842. * Terbium Rare Earth Element is the 9 th element of Lanthanide element family and its chemical symbol is Tb. * Terbium silvery-gray element is considered to be low toxic and Terbium Rare Earth Element’s atomic weight is 158.9254. *Terbium is a ductile rare earth metal and Terbium Rare Earth Element is not too much rough in air. Terbium Rare Earth Element can sometimes be cut by a knife. Unlike most of other rare earth metals, Terbium may form 4+ ions easily. *Sometimes Terbium metal becomes just like Calcium and it is found in minerals.     *Like many other lanthanide elements, Terbium is used in magnet production and these magnets are being used in            Hybrid Car Engines and other electric motors. * Terbium Rare Earth is also used in lighting applications in different industries. *Terbium Rare Earth Element is considered to be relatively toxic. * Terbium Rare Earth Element
